This was on my mind ...

Ask Me Thursday

SO it’s Ask Me Thursday.  It has been a while so I will go over the format again.

This is an opportunity to ask me questions about stuff.  You know, relationships, problems communicating with people, dealing with difficult relatives.

Can’t answer legal questions.

Don’t ask me anything that would make your mother blush.

I’ll answer the ones I think I can do justice to. And as time permits.

Don’t get offended if I don’t answer yours. Somethings I just have better responses to or sometimes I feel certain answers will help a more people.

So that’s it.  Ask if you have a mind to.

Oh and I forgot to say, I am a woman who has seen a lot and hopes to display objective thought and common sense.

But at the end of the day anything I say here is really just a 10 cent opinion.

And I welcome those of you who believe you have had similar problems to the ones you see here to jump in and give your perspective.

Nightmares in Technicolor and Dolby Sound

I have the most vivd nightmares.  They come in waves – they are all related to the same subject matter (read: my current fears) and they get more elaborate and intricate as the nights pass.  Worse yet, they incorporate whatever disaster movies I have seen or current day, real life difficulties I see on the news.

Sometimes I have to wake myself three or four times a night to make sure it’s not really happenning.

. . . and they are so detailed.  Last night 42 (not 40 or 45) but 42 people died in my dream  right in front of me.

It is funny too.  My present state of distress must be readily apparent to those around me.  The other day E saw me just drop to the floor and start doing push ups.

He said “working on your guns?”

I said, “No, I am a big ball of stress.  Trying to keep my head together.”

As he walked passed he said, “That’s a full time job for you isn’t it babe?”

Me, “31, yes, 32, 33, 34 . . . ”

The Process

Hello all!

I just thought I would share with you what part of  the process looks like.  From Just Lynn to Judge Lynn.  Takes about an hour and a half.

It was a longer than usual week this week in LA.  Lots of interviews and photo sessions.  I had to wear high heels.  You now a girls feet and knees where killing her!

But these days my new PIP (for all of you who are new here it is a Personal Improvement Program – I almost always have one going) is to learn to enjoy the journey.

Problems to be solved are not things to be worry about but puzzles to be completed.

Encounters with people who tend to stress you are Emotional Exercises.  “How can I,” as my mother would say, “figure out how what they are feeling is dictating their behavior and address that emotion in a way that satisfies it while getting what I need from them?” Beating that game means not beating them but  mastering your own emotions, addressing theirs and resolving the situation in a manner the meets your needs.

Those things are intellectual challenges.  And I like brain teasers.  It’s all in your approach and perspective.  Well, at least that’s what I am working on  . . .

On a more mundane and logistical note:  When I got home from taping all was Toler Normal:

E was happy to see me.

The house was clean.

The refrigerator was empty.

19 was playing his guitar and, you guessed it

16 was grounded.

. . . and so it goes.

This Life

This life I live never ceases to give me the giggles. It is a great life but one that is so unpredictable. Most certainly unplanned. I spent this past week doing photo shoots and interviews. At home I am hard pressed to put on shoes and comb my hair.

Sometimes I stop, look around and think “what the heck happened here?”

No complaints, mind you, just astonishment.

Back home from taping, my men are all here and I am so very content. Sleepy but content. Just thought I would stop through. Didn’t want to give the impression that I had only resurfaced for two blogs and fallen back into my blog coma (I don’t remember who used that but it is an accurate description.)

Anyway, I have yet to recover fully from my trip. But I wanted to drop by. Here’s a behind the scenes pictures of my adventures during the week.

Just so you know!

I am, as I said, still working my way back to the blog. Maybe not daily . . . Trying to do what I do well without over doing it. Which as you all know is my personal habit. Moderation and I have yet to meet. I am taping this week so things will be hectic. Just dropped in to drop in. Still haven’t figure out how to put a picture on this thing from my iPad. Maybe an excuse to get the iPad 2?

shameless.
