Judge Lynn is a graduate of Harvard University and The University of Pennsylvania Law School. She began practicing law Cleveland in 1984. In 1993, at the age of 34, she was elected judge of The Cleveland Heights Municipal Court. While on the bench, Judge Lynn volunteered actively in her community creating innovative programs for young offenders such as Woman Talk, a program designed to intensively mentor young, at-risk girls.
While a judge is Cleveland, Judge Lynn campaigned to establish a First Responder Program for mentally ill defendants. She was also an active member of The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill.
Judge Lynn has been the recipient of many awards, she is, however, most proud of her Humanitarian of the Year Award presented to her but The Cleveland Domestic Violence Center. Her work to prevent domestic violence continues. She is currently an active board member of Bloom365.org, an organization that provides educational programs to schools to help promote and understand healthy relationships.
Lynn Toler is currently the host of the nationally syndicated television show, Divorce Court and a co-host of WeTV’s Marriage Bootcamp.
Judge Toler is the author of three books: My Mother’s Rules, Making Marriage Work and Put It in Writing. Essence Magazine described her first book, My Mother’s Rules as an “Awe inspiring memoir.”
Judge Lynn has appeared as a legal and relationship expert on a variety of shows including Larry King Live, Dr. Drew, The Bill O’Reilly Show, Tyra Banks Show, CNN, The Dr. Phil Show, The Steve Harvey Show, CBS Morning Show, The Wendy Williams Show and The Breakfast Club many others.
