Good Morning

And I do mean good morning!

I have a tennis class scheduled soon. Such a simple thing but I enjoy it so much.

Starting the big Christmas clean. Mom’s coming and I have 18 days until she gets here. Room by room, corner by corner. I am going to deep clean this bad boy and dare her to find some dirt!!! And you know she will : ) But it’s a game we play. One I never win! The cool part is whatever dirt she finds SHE cleans. She talks about me the whole time but that’s half the fun.

I have solved the teenaged boy Christmas shop dilemma, though. They get a price limit and access to the internet. When they have what they want in the shopping cart – I put check them out and press send.

E is a different story. Tough brother to shop for. So are my mom and sister, and truth be told, me too. We never really want stuff and the stuff we do want we usually already bought. I ask them all what they want and they say nothing – it doesn’t matter. Can’t blame them because I say the same thing.

I used to give great gifts. One year I stole an old picture of my parents and had a man paint it in oil. Another I got my mom a CD and downloaded all of her favorite songs on there from Grieg’s Concerto in A Minor to Joe Turner to Kool and the gang. (She doesn’t do IPods or the like).

Another year E lost a bronze chain he liked to wear and I went around found the same one except in gold (that wasn’t easy) and bought it for him.

Don’t know if I am getting old but I can’t seem to put anything together anymore.

Anyway, today’s my first day of thinking Christmas. Personally I’d be happy if I could find a black Baptist or AME in church that’s not all of the way across town to go to a Christmas eve service. But this is Arizona and that’s not happenin’. Have car though, will travel. We have a church w go to in downtown Phoenix. Like it, don’t love it, but what are you gonna do?
