Wedlock or Deadlock doing well!

The latest overnight results put “Wedlock Or Deadlock” 22% ahead of
“Wendy Williams” in the battle of the newest syndication entries. After
two weeks of its six week test run, “Wedlock” averaged a 1.1/3 in its
seven trial markets, while fellow July launch “Wendy” logged a 0.9/3
after three weeks in her 43 metered situations.

In the national ratings for the week ending July 26, the freshman leader
for the 26th consecutive week was “The Doctors” (1.6, steady), while
“Deal Or No Deal” (1.4, steady) provided the main competition. “Wendy
Williams” (0.9, down 10%) lost household ground in her second week on
the national ratings chart, and both her female 18-34 and female 18-49
demos declined 14% week to week. Next in line were the soon to depart
“Judge Karen” (0.8, flat) and “Bonnie Hunt” (0.7, flat).

Among the established strips, talkers were hot. “Rachael Ray” (1.6, up
14%) hit her best household rating in 10 weeks and had the largest gain
in the top tier. Other talk shows moving higher from the week before
included “Oprah” (3.8, up 9%), “Live With Regis & Kelly” (2.5, up 4%),
Maury (1.8, up 6%), “Tyra Banks” (0.9, up 13%) and “Martha Stewart”
(0.7, up 17%). Meanwhile, among the 27 daytime strips in first run, only
“Wendy” was down from the week before.

Among the judge shows, “Divorce Court” (1.2, up 9%) scored the sharpest
week-to-week increase of all and surged 33% among young women 18-34.
“Judge Judy” (3.9, up 5%) ruled the category, scoring her highest
ratings in six weeks. “Judy” also topped “Oprah” for the daytime crown
for the fifth consecutive week. “Judge Joe Brown” (2.0, up 5%) was
second, logging his best numbers in five weeks.
