Of Rackets and Puppies, I Sing

Check this out:

The elephant is off my head.

Last night, both, not one, but both of my boys came into my office and started an unsolicited conversation. 17 actually put his arm around my neck and said “How ya doin’?” 14’s question was (this is deep) “so what did you do today?” I guess they saw the elephant too. Or else E said something. Either way, I’ll take it.

The sun is shining and I have a tennis lesson scheduled.

Today is the first day in a while I hadn’t had to get up at 5:30 or some other unheard of hour to do an east coast radio show.

Then the coupe de grace: I am going to go over a friends house and play with her new puppy. It was a little tacky because I invited myself over but I really like her and puppies so what the heck.

Ask me how good I feel?

Hello Megan. Just thought I’d say it. Glad you enjoy reading along even if you don’t have any comments to add.

Tee, Judge Tolerance, funny, does it get any better than that? I will keep that in my sights. Always pays to get better at it.

I had a long conversation with a distraught acquaintance yesterday. Elephant still on my head and everything. She was trying to make a decision about something. She wanted to make the RIGHT one and could not find an answer that resolved all of her concerns. I told her what mom has so often told me. Lots of times it is not about making the right decision (because the is no perfect solution to everything) but simply deciding which set of problems you want to solve.

As I told her that I began to rethink my own on going battle with THE RIGHT THING. I was wrestling that devil yesterday too. Some times your own problems are best seen through the eyes of others.

Anyway. . .

Still cooking up my surprise. You should see it soon.

I am going to make a point of having FUN FUN FUN today.

Having the right attitude isn’t everything but it sure does help.

Peace and joy.
